SGI Global Assisted with Disaster Relief for Sinaloa Flood Victims

On September 24, 2018, SGI Global Program Management Office and instructors in Mexico City donated food items to Sinaloa state flood victims. Mexico’s Interior Department declared a state of emergency in 11 municipalities of Sinaloa due to flooding from heavy rains. About 2000 people were evacuated and several shelters were set-up.  Sinaloa is one of the 14 Mexican states where SGI Global is teaching in partnership with Mexico’s Center for Investigation and National Security  (CISEN) and funded under the Merida Initiative by the U.S. Department of State’s International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).   On September 24-28, despite the heavy rains and flooding, an SGI instructor was able to travel and teach 19 students in Culiacan, Sinaloa.  SGI Global has been working in Mexico since March 2018 and has a highly qualified cadre of Mexican and American instructors providing law enforcement training to Mexican officials.20180924_115412
