Karl Weiss

As the Vice President of Global Operations and Business Development, Mr. Karl Weiss leads SGI Global’s worldwide program execution, operational strategy, and growth initiatives. He oversees the development of new capabilities, drives international program performance, and strengthens SGI’s global portfolio across law enforcement, security, justice sector reform, and capacity building missions. In this role, Mr. Weiss ensures SGI’s operational excellence while expanding strategic partnerships and positioning the company for long term success in complex international environments.

Mr. Weiss brings over 30 years of domestic and international law enforcement experience, including senior leadership roles with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Most recently, he served as a Senior Police Advisor within INL, where he provided global expertise in criminal justice development, conflict stabilization, financial crime, fraud investigations, and counternarcotics program design. His portfolio included the Western Hemisphere and supported worldwide initiatives involving money laundering, complex investigations, and law enforcement capacity building.

Prior to INL, Mr. Weiss served as a Supervisory Special Agent with the DEA, managing and directing hundreds of high level domestic and international investigations involving narcotics trafficking, money laundering, weapons smuggling, cybercrime, violent crime, intelligence operations, and transnational criminal networks. His overseas assignments included service in Bogotá, Colombia, and he later led global training programs within DEA’s Office of International Training, overseeing the development and delivery of instruction to more than 3,600 foreign law enforcement officials across 92 countries.

He has conducted law enforcement sector assessments across Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America and served as the Senior Law Enforcement Advisor to the United States for the UN backed Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti, supporting security stabilization efforts.

Karl holds a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, a Master’s in Financial Investigations, and is a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner and Project Management Professional.
